What is an annual return?
An annual return is a snapshot of a business which contains the basic information about a company, including information about the company directors, shareholders, registered address and share capital. The company director and company secretary are responsible for ensuring the annual return is filed at Companies House.
When should annual returns be filed?
Annual returns must be filed once a year, within 28 days of the company incorporation date. Filing your annual return late or with errors can lead to significant problems such as heavy fines, long delays or even removal from the Companies House registry or loss of your limited liability status.
